Mini test model, from the Mini Astroworm M2
The astroworm, made waterproof for submerged tailings. Same two-section burrowing worm, same stroke, same auger. Drag the model to turn it, cut it open to see the dry vessel, and play the gait.

Every render and drawing is generated from the OpenSCAD model. The worm is designed and checked by script; it has not been built or tested.
The motion is drawn from the CAD's own numbers and shows the intended gait. It is not a test result. 114,754 triangles.
One dry vessel. Both motors, the lead screw and every wire sit in one vessel in the tail. Its joints are flat gaskets on six tie rods. Rev 2: the auger's lip seal runs on a hardened, ground dowel pin, the pushrod seals with two U-cups, and the cables pass through bought WetLink penetrators.
Spoil leaves as slurry. The auger feeds a chamber behind the thrust spider. One hose takes slurry out. A second brings dilution water in.
Setae shoes. Rev 2: curved shoes that hug the body, on M2's own clevises and pins. Going forward they fold to 4°. Slipping back, they open to 35° and bear on the mud.
The telescope runs wet. Its key slot is capped and a rubber ring wipes the spigot.
A self-feeding crown. The astroworm's gauge rim and 45° scroll cone, with three right-hand helical blades swept outer end first: turning, they push the cut rearward into the throat and inward from the bore wall, and the reaction pulls the head forward. A self-feeding screw point threads into the bed ahead of it. Nine staggered picks.
